Insurance Coverage
In BC, you need insurance for an off-road vehicle (ORV) depending on where you operate it: you require
ICBC's Basic Insurance if you drive on or across highways, and at least $200,000 in third-party liability if you use it on forest service roads.
This minimum liability can be purchased through ICBC or private insurers. On other Crown land, liability insurance is not mandatory but is recommended.
