Reliving the Adventures
Step back in time and revisit the exciting moments from our past season. From thrilling trail rides to successful partnerships with other clubs, our past events have shaped the Wells Wheels ATV Club into what it is today. We focused on giving back to the trails we love. Dedicated volunteers participated in trail maintenance activities, ensuring the sustainability and safety of our riding areas. We also organized numerous group rides, allowing members to bond over shared experiences and create lasting memories.
Check out some of the photos and videos below to relive these unforgettable moments!
3 Clubs Campout
The 108 ATV Club hosted the “Clubs Campout” for members of the PGATV, Wells Wheels, Logan Lake ATV, and the 108 ATV clubs. The event was staged at the 100 Snowmobile Club who graciously allowed us to camp at their clubhouse for the weekend. We camped from May 22 -26. A great turn-out with 20 RVs, 38 ATVs and 46 people showed up to ride on the “Gold Rush Snowmobile Trails”. Some riders did almost 400 kms in 3 days. We are already looking forward to the next year’s event.
July Campout in Barkerville
What a great week of “GlampING and Riding” for club members and guests!
We basically took over half of the Forest Rose Campground for the 2025 Wells Wheels ATV Club’s July Campout. Riders from across BC and Yukon joined in for part of the week!
Many new friendships were made and multiple guided rides were planned for members and guests on Wednesday and Thursday.
Friday morning, a few club members headed out to Stony Lake to meet up with the four groups coming from Prince George, and led the way back to Wells for two of the groups.
Many new friendships were made and multiple guided rides were planned for members and guests during the week.
Barkerville Weekend Campout
We had a great weekend camping at the Forest Rose Campground in Barkerville. Shockingly, even more people decided to join our crazy crew in this wet and cold weather!
On Saturday the Ride was to Yanks Peak. We did just over 90kms with 13 SxS, 25 people, and 3 fur babies!
With more rain and snow forecasted for Sunday, the group ride’s destination was the Sugar Creek Loop & Cornish Mountain with a stop in Wells on our way back.
We managed to ride around 66kms with 11 SxS, 21 people and 1 fur baby! We hope to make this an annual event for the Club!
Trails, Bridges & Signs
Gratefully acknowledging the partnership with the Wells Snowmobile Club, funding from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport’s via the “DDF-Destination Development Fund” & RSTBC. Donations received from West Fraser mills in Quesnel, and Barkerville Historical Town and Park. The bridge over “Big Valley Creek “on the Sugar Creek Loop, linking Wells/Barkerville to Prince George ATV/Snowmobile trails was replaced. Several kilometers of trail were also improved through brushing and water control work.
Priority was also given to the “Coquihalla Trail “for brushing and maintenance to reopen the trail for the 2025 season.
The Sugar Creek Loop has undergone thorough brushing with the installation of seven culverts, with ongoing trail maintenance throughout the area.
With the support from RSTBC, enhancements have been made to the Connector leading to One Mile Bridge, including bypass construction to redirect the trail away from the mine property.
Signage installation has been completed within Barkerville Historic Park and along the "Eyebrow" short trail connecting to the 3100 FSR.
New trail development off the 1600 FSR at 1610km extending to the 3100 FSR at 3115km now provides an alternate route from the 3100 Road to the start of Yanks Peak Road.
Brushing and maintenance activities have been executed from 3111km through the Sawflat Trail to the 1300 Road (Swift River Road), followed by water bar improvements and additional brushing up to the graveyard and store at the trailhead for Yanks Peak.
Further trail upgrades and drainage improvements have been finalized from the 3100 FSR to the stop signs on Yanks Peak.
Brushing is complete along the Two Sisters Trail as well as its bypass, resulting in notable enhancements to trail quality.
Additionally, essential maintenance has been performed on the F Road between the 3100 FSR and the 8400 FSR, establishing a reliable connector.
The DDF Grant is now complete.
